“I’m a busy man”: 4-year-old Irish boy goes over his to-do list

Kids say the darndest things, and this four-year-old from Northern Ireland is no exception. He decides to tell his mother about his daily chore list. He adds quite a bit of embellishment to the explanation, but it’s all in good fun!

Caroline O’Neill’s son Darragh has a big imagination and some real-life experience. Darragh goes over a list of things he needs to do in the upcoming day while his mom patiently listens and encourages him.

According to four-year-old Darragh, he has to get the keys to his car because he just bought it yesterday. He also just got his license yesterday! He says, ‘The police won’t be out today,’ while looking away from the camera, deep in thought.

He describes himself as a ‘very busy man,’ after covering all his duties for the day. He’s putting up barbed wire, trimming hedges, getting cement, and digging out ‘wee drains.’ Darragh also has sheep hair to cut!

Thankfully, the subtitles help us because Darragh’s Irish accent is very thick. He sits at the kitchen table, drinking coffee and listing his chores. Mom Caroline says, ‘He loves to work hard and farm the land with his brother and daddy and grandas. He is a hardworking wee boy.’

Darragh also discusses what he might like for dinner. He lists pizza base or steak with garlic as an option. Then, he goes back to talking about ‘leveling stones’ and ‘mowing the garden.’ He adds that ‘A shower, I’ll maybe do tonight!’

This four-year-old knows how to fill a day with work and good food! His list keeps going on and on. He couldn’t be any cuter as he recites his imaginary duties at his home in Northern Ireland.
